Reversi is a strategic board game designed for two players, featuring an 8×8 uncheckered board. The game includes sixty-four identical pieces, known as disks (or discs), which are characterized by their dual-sided colors—light on one side and dark on the other. Players alternate turns to place their disks on the board, ensuring that their assigned color is facing upward. A significant aspect of gameplay involves capturing the opponent's disks; any disks of the opposing color that lie in a straight line between the newly placed disk and another disk of the current player's color are flipped to display the current player's color.

The primary objective of Reversi is to be the player with the majority of disks showing your color at the conclusion of the game, specifically when all playable squares have been filled. Notably, Reversi has been marketed by Mattel under the trademark Othello in recent years.
